Page 13~14 The bag contained a pair of white cotton gloves stained the color of age. When I pulled them out, I thought, Her very hands were inside here. I feel foolish about it now, but one time I stuffed the gloves with cotton balls and held them through the night. | I like this passage, for some reasons. First, when I read over here, I felt said about lily, because she could not feel about her mother's hand since she was 4 years old. She even does not remember how her mother look like, and nobody can told her something about her mother. Second, I felt warm and touched when Lily held the gloves through the night, because she must very happy at that moment. When she miss her mother, there are something she can feel about her. |
I agree with your choice. And you have written a clear comment on the paragraph you choose. As my opinion, here the author shows the unfortunate childhood that Lily had. Although her mom was past in her age of forth, the God has left her the package of treasure from her mom. It is the only fortunate thing among her dark childhood. The bag is the thread of the whole book.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I think Lily is a really poor child. She lost her mother, and she had a sore life with her father. I think the bag is the only good memory from her mother.
